Some people love to keep old textbooks; others not so much. For the latter group, Barnes & Noble will buy used textbooks, freeing up some bookshelf room and adding a few dollars to the pocket.
Like the story about eBay buying back electronics, this is much the same process. Tell Barnes & Noble online the ISBN of your book and they’ll tell you the price they’ll pay; should you agree to the value you’ll be sent some post-free mailing labels.
They’ll only take books in good condition. That means no mildew stains, missing pages, or lots of underlined text. And the potential seller must have at least $10.00 worth of books to sell in order to participate.
While Barnes & Noble may be one of the better-known companies to do this, they are certainly not the only one. Many college bookstores offer buybacks, so be sure to check in with them. You can also use a tool like BookFinder or other platform to buy and sell used texbooks.
